The Nyanga Townships and surrounding areas of Cape Town, South Africa, face significant challenges related to violence and trauma, particularly affecting women, children, the disabled, and the LGBTQ community. These groups are often marginalized and face significant social, economic, and political barriers that hinder their access to essential services and resources.
The prevalence of rape, murder, domestic violence, and other forms of violence and trauma has a significant impact on the lives of individuals and communities in the area. These experiences can lead to long-term physical, emotional, and psychological damage, as well as economic hardship and social exclusion. The lack of access to essential services and resources, such as education, wellness services, counselling and support, and sustainable development opportunities, further compounds the challenges faced by these communities.

Luloyisa is hopping to do more for its community, our wish is to empower by providing basic practical sewing skills to the youth and women who are struggling to find jobs, by doing that we would be eradicating poverty, and decreasing chances of crime, alcohol and drug abuse among our unskilled youths and mothers who find substance and alcohol abuse as a coping mechanism from their complicated lives.
We believe that getting them off streets may improve their way of thinking and do things differently. Our communities needs us because there’s a Xhosa saying “UMNTU NGUMNTU NGABANTU”.
Please help Luloyisa to make a positive change in our communities, especially our Nyanga township that is known of high rate of crime, unemployment and other negative things.
