Limpopo Jewellery Business Incubator (LJBI) is a jewellery design and manufacturing business incubator that increases access to youth employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for previously disadvantaged communities in Limpopo. LJBI was established in 2009 to contribute towards economic opportunities and supporting emerging jewellery businesses in the province.
Legal Status and Governance of LJBI
LJBI is a non – profit organization registered in terms of the NPC and operates from its main incubation centre in Seshego, Polokwane. The organization has a current staff component of 13 employees and an active board with financial, economic development and industry expertise. The board meets quarterly and provides strategic guidance while the day to day operational of the centre relies on centre management.

Cause Highlights
Since inception, LJBI has been seen multiple successes, which include:
-Winning the Botswana International Small Business Award in 2012
-Ten learners and four SMMEs won awards at the Thuthuka competition under the themes Shoellery, Heroes and African Beads
-A learner was sent to Italy to train as a Goldsmith
-Four SMMEs and a learner received jewellery skills training offered by Hunan International Business Vocational College
-18 SMMEs have graduated from the programme
-144 learners graduated with MQA accredited certificates
LJBI has also exhibited SMME designs at various exhibitions which include:

-Bangkok Gems & Jewellery Fair
-JIS Miami
In additional LJBI partnered with Miss Bachelorette South Africa to create the winner`s crown, SMME products featured on Skeem Saam, an SABC1 soapie.
