Start by explaining that their passwords need to be:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Unique&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The hacker&nbsp;is not a nice person and&nbsp;might&nbsp;try and&nbsp;access their accounts and their personal information&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Create a hacking game and ask them to crack the code:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 2 3 _ 5 6&nbsp;<\/li><li>Pa__wo_d&nbsp;<\/li><li>_ello&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Passwords need to be&nbsp;longer and more memorable&nbsp;and not contain any private information like their name, address, phone number etc.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Think of a fun phrase or an event that they remember:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>My first football game was in 2020&nbsp;<\/li><li>Use the first letter from that phrase:&nbsp; mffgwi2020&nbsp;<\/li><li>Change some letters into symbols or special characters:&nbsp; mffgw!2020&nbsp;<\/li><li>Make some uppercase and some lowercase:&nbsp; Mffgw!2020&nbsp;<\/li><li>Now ask them to write it down a few times to remember it&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Make it memorable&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Use a different unique password for each account&nbsp;<\/li><li>Don\u2019t use personal information, name, address,&nbsp;phone number&nbsp;when creating a password&nbsp;<\/li><li>Use one that\u2019s easy to guess \u2013 like a nickname or&nbsp;favourite&nbsp;soccer team&nbsp;<\/li><li>Ask them to share it with you so that they will have it safe should they forget&nbsp;<\/li><li>Don\u2019t give it to anyone other than the trusted parent&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Logging out:&nbsp;Teach them how to log out of an account when they have finished especially on a public computer&nbsp;and very important:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0Lastly, remind your children:<strong> <\/strong>Don\u2019t tick \u201cremember my password\u201d when using a public computer!\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is important that you help your children\u00a0create\u00a0strong and unique passwords\u00a0to protect their online accounts.\u00a0 Children&nbsp;are curious and will&nbsp;want to know the why\u2019s \u2013 so tell them the possible dangers&nbsp;as you go along!&nbsp; Here are some thoughts and tips to help you along.
