The day is also aimed at&nbsp;bringing awareness to the need to&nbsp;grow equality of&nbsp;women in society.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first celebration\u00a0took place\u00a0on the 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of March in 1911\u00a0where it gained support of over a million people.\u00a0Today, International Women\u2019s Day is celebrated by all people\u00a0around the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is without a doubt that as individuals we are responsible for what we choose to&nbsp;engage&nbsp;ourselves&nbsp;with,&nbsp;which&nbsp;in return influences our&nbsp;way of thought and actions. This then means&nbsp;we can all&nbsp;effectively decide to challenge stereotypes,&nbsp;fight bias, widen perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women&#8217;s accomplishments.&nbsp;We&nbsp;can all help make a gender-equal world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gender equity is not an issue\u00a0or subject that needs the involvement of\u00a0women, but it is a social\u00a0responsibility we <strong>all<\/strong>\u00a0have to\u00a0engage with. Gender equality is fundamental for economies and communities to grow vigorously. A gender-equal world can be more beneficial, wealthier and increasingly amicable.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The IWD 2020 campaign theme, \u201c<strong><em>An equal world is an enabled world<\/em><\/strong>\u201d\u00a0is drawn from an idea of &#8216;Collective Individualism.&#8217;\u00a0We are all part of a collective. Our individual activities, discussions, practices and mentalities can affect our society.\u00a0Collectively, we can get\u00a0make change happen.\u00a0Collectively we can each\u00a0make a contribution\u00a0to\u00a0becoming a\u00a0gender-equal world.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On March 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0you can show your support by striking a\u00a0<strong>#EachforEqual<\/strong>\u00a0pose. Put your arms\u00a0in front\u00a0of your chest parallel to each other and strike\u00a0the #EachforEqual\u00a0pose to\u00a0motivate\u00a0millions for people around the world\u00a0to\u00a0take ownership and support\u00a0International Women\u2019s Day.
