It was established in 2000 and for the past 23 years has grown from strength to strength working in rural areas of KwaZulu Natal. The organisation is governed by an active BOARD of Directors; it also has a director that manages operations of the organisation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Vision<\/strong><br \/>\nWe strive to create a society where children and adolescents have the opportunities and encouragement to develop into responsible, self-sufficient adults who are able to contribute positively to society and break the cycle of poverty.<\/p>\n<p>In 2007 we were awarded the Jet Community Award in the category WE CARE for KwaZulu Natal and again in 2008 we received a certificate of outstanding performance from the KwaZulu Natal MEC of Social Development Dr. M Radebe. In 2019 for Mandela Day, we hosted the Deputy of the Republic of South Africa MP DD Mabuza, Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize, KZN Premier MPL S Zikalala.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Country of data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Child<\/span>ren: 8,322\u00a0<span class=\"mark3hk0v3pe9\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">child<\/span>ren from rural communities were educated on their rights and how to report abuse.<\/li>\n<li>In partnership with Habitat for Humanity SA, 60 three-bedroom houses were successfully built for orphans and vulnerable <span class=\"mark3hk0v3pe9\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">child<\/span>ren across 10 tribal villages.<\/li>\n<li>Establishment of <span class=\"mark3hk0v3pe9\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Child<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"markv2bkhb59z\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Care<\/span>\u00a0Forums: Nine\u00a0<span class=\"mark3hk0v3pe9\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" class=\"mark3hk0v3pe9\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Child<\/span>\u00a0Mentors: 24\u00a0<span class=\"mark3hk0v3pe9\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Child<\/span>\u00a0Mentors were employed through the Expanded Public Works Programme, enabling outreach to more\u00a0<span class=\"mark3hk0v3pe9\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">child<\/span>ren in the upcoming financial year.<\/li>\n<li>Successful Implementation of Cash Plus <span class=\"markv2bkhb59z\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Care<\/span> Qhawekazi Project: Funded by the Global Fund through the KZN Provincial Treasury and CINDI from 2017 to 2019, this pilot program focused on incentivized behavioral change among young women aged 19 to 24.<\/li>\n<li>Enrolment and Empowerment: 9,800 adolescent girls and young women were enrolled and attended empowerment sessions.<\/li>\n<li>HIV Testing: 8,648 Adolescents Girls and Young Women were tested for HIV, with 726 testing positive.<\/li>\n<li>Linkage to <span class=\"markv2bkhb59z\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Care<\/span>: 100% of those testing positive were linked to HIV treatment and\u00a0<span class=\"markv2bkhb59z\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">care<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Hosted the Deputy President of the Republic of <span class=\"markmybcj1isu\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">South<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"markkb4f38umz\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Africa<\/span> honourable DD Mabuza, UNAIDS Executive Director, Minister of Health, KZN Premier, District and Local Mayors for the 2019 Nelson Mandela Day.<\/li>\n<li>In partnership with Medecins Sans Frontiers\u2019 (Doctors Without Borders) <span class=\"mark3hk0v3pe9\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Child<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"markv2bkhb59z\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Care<\/span> SA successfully implemented a door-to-door intervention by Community Health Workers, providing over 120,000 HIV tests from 2015 to 2017, significantly enhancing early detection and access to treatment in rural communities. This initiative fostered household dialogue around HIV\/TB, improved support for HIV-positive patients, and contributed to achieving the UNAIDS strategy of 90-90-90 ahead of schedule in 2019.<\/li>\n<li>Successfully purchased a building in Eshowe town for <span class=\"mark3hk0v3pe9\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Child<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"markv2bkhb59z\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Care<\/span> SA&#8217;s offices and the Youth Centre, co-funded by National Lotteries, Operation Jump Start, and IQRAA Trust.<\/li>\n<li>Secured community-donated land in Ntumeni Village through the Traditional Council, enabling the construction of an activities hall funded by <span class=\"markkb4f38umz\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Africa<\/span>n Rainbow Minerals to support youth development and community engagement.
