Maphindi’s Early Learning Centre is an early learning centre that caters to children from 3 months to 5 years old. We are located in an informal settlement. Our fees are in the range of R320 to R420. Most of the parents can’t afford a higher amount due to unemployment and the fare they pay for travelling to work. We are registered with DSD and the Department of Education for the Bronze category, currently working on meeting the Silver category.<\/p>\n

  1. I would like to get mobile classrooms suitable for a waterlogged place when there are Heavy rains.<\/li>\n
  2. A mobile toilet system that can be relocated when human settlements provide a suitable place to relocate.<\/li>\n
  3. We also need outside play equipment.\\<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    With these, we can be able to provide space for more children since parents have to pay for transport or carry their children on their backs to far ECD centre<\/span>s.

    1. Witnessing children from our\u00a0centre<\/span> graduating to grade R.<\/li>\n
    2. Being featured by Smart Start in a documentary on women making a difference.<\/li>\n
    3. Being featured on Smart Start Unite, which live broadcast on DSTV, talking about the importance of working together as ECD centre<\/span>s to support and share experiences.<\/li>\n
    4. I was also highlighting my role as the chairperson of BavukileSmart Start Forum, consisting of+60 ECD centre<\/span>s.<\/li>\n
