WHO ARE WE? Epilepsy<\/span> South<\/span> Africa – South<\/span> Cape\/Karoo<\/span> Branch<\/span> is a registered non-profit organisa<\/span>tion providing holistic care and support to people with Epilepsy<\/span> and other neurological disa<\/span>bilities.<\/p>\n

We care for 50 residents at our specialist residential care facility, offering 24-hour support, and reach many more through community outreach. It costs R9,000 per month to care for each resident — and we rely on donations to keep going.<\/p>\n

WHAT DO WE DO?
\n-> Residential Care: Full-time care for adults with Epilepsy<\/span> and other neurological disa<\/span>bilities who cannot live independently.
\n-> Community Support: Outreach, epilepsy<\/span> awareness and education, support groups, skills training, epilepsy<\/span> education, and social work services for individuals and families.
\n-> Day Care: Daily transport and care for adults with disa<\/span>bilities, providing a sa<\/span>fe space for stimulation, arts and crafts, adult literacy and numeracy, and a cooked meals while their families are at work.<\/p>\n

WHERE DO WE WORK? From The Crags to Oudtshoorn and Mossel Bay — including Wilderness, Sedgefield, George, Karatara, Rheenendal, and Plettenberg Bay.<\/p>\n

    Cause Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Providing a sa<\/span>nctuary for people who are shunned by society for having epilepsy<\/span>. Many of our beneficiaries have been left with us for their whole lives as their families cannot cope with their seizures or co-morbidities. We provide specialised medical care for people who have been debilitated by epilepsy<\/span> and would not be able to live sa<\/span>fely if they did not live with us.
