It is grounded in the storytellers&#8217; control over the medium \u2013 words, images and audio \u2013 so that the process of learning and production is as powerful for the storyteller as the end product is for the audience.<\/p>\n<p>A final digital story is a short video (2\u20134\u00a0minutes) of images, voice, text and music\u00a0stitched together using low-tech, affordable\u00a0and accessible technology.\u00a0 Participants\u00a0narrate first-person scripts that they write\u00a0and then match with personal photographs,\u00a0drawings, music and sound effects\u00a0to tell their story. Once completed, DST\u00a0stories are easily published online and can\u00a0be made available to an international\u00a0audience, depending on the topic and\u00a0purpose of the project.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The power of DST is in the process, not the\u00a0product. Point of View<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>What is the main point of the story and what is\u00a0the perspective of the author?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>2. A Dramatic Question<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A key question that keeps the viewer&#8217;s\u00a0attention and will be answered by the end of\u00a0the story.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>3. Emotional Content<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Serious issues that come alive in a personal\u00a0and powerful way and connects the audience\u00a0to the story.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>4. The Gift of Your Voice<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A way to personalize the story to help the\u00a0audience understand the context.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>5. The Power of the Soundtrack<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Music or other sounds that support and\u00a0embellish the story.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>6. Economy<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Using just enough content to tell the story\u00a0without overloading the viewer.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>7.
